Jacob 5-7
This week has been a very unique one for us as we’ve been advised to stay home and socially distance ourselves from others. It’s been a long week for me as I’m sure it has been for you. As all of these changes have occurred, I’ve struggled with knowing what I should be doing with my time and energy now and how I can best be prepared for the trials that might be coming my way. It is easy to fall into the trap of worrying. Right now if we listen to the news and constantly check social media for updates, we will find many things to worry about. I challenge you to try not to fall into that trap. Try and look for the good and have faith that God will help us through this trial. Focus on the good and I promise you will find it.
As I was studying this week’s Come Follow Me lesson for Young Women, I came across a quote from President Nelson’s Devotional entitled “Hope of Israel” that has brought me a lot of hope and strength. He said, “When you know your life is being directed by God, regardless of the challenges and disappointments that may and will come, you will feel joy and peace.”
One thing that we can do to stay positive during this challenging time is to focus on things that we have control over. We can’t control the things that are happening in the world, but we can control the attitude we have, the way we spend our time, and the way we treat other people. We can choose to follow the Savior and put our trust in Him.
The Lord needs your help gathering Israel. He needs you and your strengths. Right now as the world is worried and confused, He needs you to bring hope to those around you. He needs you to put your time and effort into developing your goals that you have set this year so that you can be stronger and more prepared to help in His work to Gather Israel. There are so many ways that we can spend this time that we have been given as we are forced to slow down and be at home with our families.
I challenge you to trust God. Put your time and energy into Him and His cause and you will find joy.

From last week’s lesson I learned that Heavenly Father does not give up on us and we should not give up on him. He will work with us through our trials.

Our family read the Book of Enos yesterday. I was really inspired by his account. He prayed for a really long time, but not just for himself, he prayed for the people too. I think in this time of fear and confusion we should keep each other in our prayers.

I think that if we put our time and effort into God and allow our faith to grow that everything will work out. The world can be so crazy at times but Heavily Father sees and knows how to help us and protect us.

I’ve learned this week about how Jesus Christ never gives up on is no matter what He is willing to help us at any moment. I really thought about this while reading Jacob 5 and all the things the worker did to help the vineyard

Even though we are not having church that does not mean we still can’t learn about the gospel and strengthen our testimonies. I’m so thankful for come follow me so we can keep learning about the gospel. I’ve learned the value of scripture study especially since there is not church and seminary.
