Message from Dr. Sis Krueger on Precautions for Coronavirus
“I received this update to from the AAP regarding COVID 19 in the USA.
Personally, I plan to wash my hands diligently, make sure I have a good 3 week supply of food and water in case of quarantine, and call my doctor, (or the county health department) to get tested if I develop chest pain, fever or severe cough in the next couple of months.
Additionally, I would recommend staying home from church and activities if anyone has fever (temp 100.4 or higher), chest pain, and/or severe cough.”

Saturday April 18th Group Hike – Lisa Boblett and Heather Krueger are planning a Group Hike. Meet at 9 am. We will be done between 1pm and 3pm. Meet at the church to combine vehicles. Depending on the weather, we will either do a “view hike” (on a bright clear day) or a waterfall hike, if it’s overcast or drizzly.
To bring: Hat, sunglasses, hiking boots or good sneakers, hoodie or jacket, walking stick, water bottle, trail snacks.Yourself, husband or boyfriend, kids who can walk that far, friends, dogs.
The view hike is Sam Knob trail which is 2.5 miles each way and moderate in difficulty (5 miles total). Most of the trail is through a beautiful meadow, then there is a climb through a rhododendron forest, then a rocky bald at the top with amazing views. Big parking area and bathroom at the trailhead. Off the Blue Ridge Parkway and near Canton.
The waterfall hike is Twin Falls, a loop hike, 5.5 – 6 miles total, moderately difficult. Most of the trail is in the forest, alongside a beautiful stream. Can be wet and a little muddy. Slight climb at the end to 2 beautiful waterfalls side by side. Small parking area, no facilities. Near Brevard.
*We are open to shorter distance or a later start time if most of the group prefers those options.
